Our Founder

Inquisitive Minds Montessori is owned and operated by Kristel Walker. Miss Kristel began her love of working with children at the age of 8 which continued throughout her childhood and teenage years where she then enrolled in early childhood education at DSU during her senior year of high school. In conjunction with college, she participated in the daycare at her high school caring for the children of the high school students. Additionally, she worked as a teacher for one in-home provider and two childcare centers where she learned quickly that she wanted to bring better to the childcare industry for both children and childcare teachers.

When Kristel had her second child, she took her passion and experience to license her own in-home childcare where she was able to stay home with her children. Now that both of her children are school-age and attending elementary at a Montessori charter school, she has finally been able to pursue her dream of opening a childcare center.

Montessori is an excellent philosophy of education that provides hands-on and child-led learning to encourage independence while focusing on the development of the whole child physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially. Our curriculum, facility, and outdoor play area are all Montessori-inspired and child-centered to offer an early childhood experience that both our students and parents will appreciate. Miss Kristel fell in love with the Montessori philosophy in 2010 and knew she wanted to implement this method with her own children and eventually her center.

Miss Kristel is beyond grateful for this opportunity to bring Inquisitive Minds Montessori to life in American Fork and future surrounding areas. Our hope is that our students, parents, and our staff feel welcome, heard, seen, and cared for within our environment.

"The role of education is to interest the child profoundly in an external activity to which he will give all his potential."
